About JAM
Who we are
Jackson Arts Ministry, also known as JAM, is an arts-based ministry at Jackson Church. We cover a wide variety of the arts with different classes being held every Spring and Fall season. A significant emphasis on Christian faith is embedded throughout the program.
What we do
Our goal for JAM is provide a low-cost opportunity for anyone to be able to participate in theater and the arts. Scholarships are available upon request for those who are unable to afford the registration cost. The program is currently completely volunteer-run, and all money made from registration, tickets, and concessions goes back into running the program. Each Spring and Fall we have performances for 2nd-12th graders, with everyone who auditions receiving a part.
How we came to be
JAM had its first beginnings back in 2012 as two separate entities: a youth drama program, and a child enrichment program that offered classes such as sewing and cooking. In 2016, these programs were reorganized into its current form as a volunteer committee-lead arts program as part of Jackson Church’s overall visioning plan. Since then, the program has grown tremendously thanks to all of our wonderful volunteers and parents.
